FILM MAKER
Bruce is one of the country's leading drama directors with BAFTA, RTS and EMMY generated by the films he makes. He tends to tackle subject matter where the characters at the centre of the story tend to be morally ambiguous and challenging.
His first movie Leave to Remain was about a boy compelled to lie to get his British status in the topical Leave to Remain that won awards globally and premiered at the London Film Festival and had a soundtrack by Alt J.
Murdered by my Father won Adeel Akhtar his BAFTA for leading male – the first time a non-white actor had won in this category. Bruce cast a young John Boyega in My Murder which won best single film and soundtrack.
Bruce directed Maxine Peake as a campaigner to get justice for the 96 killed at Hillsborough. His outstanding but unsettling Born to Kill series about a teenage psychopath saw his lead Jack Rowan voted in the Best Male lead at the BAFTA’s – the youngest ever. He also directed one of the most talked about series BBC1’s Doctor Foster season 1 for which Suranne Jones won best female lead. In 2012 he was Voted Broadcast magazine’s top 10 Mover and Shaker as one of the United Kingdom’s most exciting and successful documentary and drama Directors.
His 9/11 film Flight 93 was Emmy nominated and his documentary series about the Afghan conflict OUR WAR won a BAFTA.
OUR WORLD WAR written by a young Joe Barton won a Grierson award for best series.
Bruce directed Kenneth Branagh and Juliet Stevenson in the acclaimed series TEN DAYS TO WAR about the invasion of Iraq. BRINKS MAT: THE GREATEST HEIST was nominated for a BAFTA and SAS: IRANIAN EMBASSY SEIGE won the Grierson Award for the Best Historical Documentary in 2003.
Bruce directed Jack Thorne and Genevieve Barr’s disability film THEN BARBARA MET ALAN for BBC/Netflix. Most recently he directed the feature film Black Cab - a ghost story starring Nick Frost and Synovve Karlson.

Kate grew up around Bristol and has worked in production for the past 25-years, alongside an array of critically acclaimed Filmmakers. She has produced cutting edge stories from the multi-award winning BBC musical drama Glasgow Girls featuring Gary Lewis and an ensemble cast of young actors, to the political thriller Julius Caesar directed by Gregory Doran of the RSC.
In 2014 she saw the theatrical release of her first feature Leave to Remain – a coming of age drama about the lives of teenagers seeking asylum in the UK, featuring Toby Jones and a soundtrack by the multi-award winning band Alt-J.
Her most recent work includes the much talked about Murder in the Car Park in addition to The Interrogation of Tony Martin, played by Steve Pemberton, Unspeakable, starring Indira Varma and Luke Treadaway, The Watchman starring Stephen Graham and The Cure for Channel 4 – the inspirational true story of Julie Bailey, a mother who exposed one of the worst scandals in the history of the NHS.
She is Co-Founder of Bristol based Indefinite Films, selected as one of Channel 4's Emerging Indies, a BBC Small Indie and PACT’s Future 30, which is focused on developing feature films and genre TV series based on true stories and their companion documentaries. The company has a number of funded developments and is working with a diverse range of established and emerging talent.
She is the co-founder of Bristol Screen Producers a collective set up to support the creation of narrative work in the Region, and is an active member of the RTS West committee and alumni of Creative UK’s Female Founders

JIM NALLY
WRITER & DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE
Jim is an award-winning documentary maker having recently produced and directed BBC1 7/7 series. He co-produced Indefinite Film’s drama documentary ‘Murder in the Car Park’ about the unsolved murder of Daniel Morgan for C4 and has written the three best-selling crime fiction novels that were optioned for a TV series with Paramount Plus through Indefinite Films.

JULIA BERG
SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT EXEC
Julia Berg started her career in New York working for independent producer Anthony Bregman of Likely Story working with filmmakers including Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze.
On moving to the UK, Julia worked for producer Jim Wilson on his slate of projects with talent that includes Lynne Ramsay and Jonathan Glazer. Julia´s Untamed Stories banner has partnered with The Writers Lab NY supported by Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Oprah for women screenwriters who are 40+. Julia is joined by Cate Blanchett´s Dirty Films, Mia Bays´ Birds Eye View and the BFI Agencies to launch The Writers Lab in the UK + Ireland in 2021, with plans to launch in Europe for 2022.
At Untamed Stories, Julia develops projects with new and established talent across film and TV working with writers from Cheryl Dunye (´The Watermelon Woman´), to Emily Ballou (´The Slap´), with SVODs that include Stan in Australia and partners including Maven Pictures (Ámerican Honey´).
Julia is a voting member of the British Independent Film Awards and Women in Film and TV.

NICOLA PEARCEY
CORPORATE, COMMERCIAL AND CREATIVE CONSULTANT
Nicola Pearcey serves as CEO of Picnik Entertainment Ltd, a UK based media venture focused on bringing ambitious IP and great people together for commercial success.
Prior to forming Picnik, Nicola ran Lionsgate as President of UK & Europe, where she was responsible for the leadership of the company across its film and TV business. She helped shepherd blockbuster releases including The Hunger Games, The Expendables, La La Land and Knives Out in addition to acquisitions Military Wives, Fighting With My Family, Eddie The Eagle and Mcqueen amongst many other developments, acquisitions and management of film and TV libraries. She was a core member of the global content decision making team.
Nicola was also instrumental in growing the company’s TV business in the UK with shows like The Goes Wrong Show on BBC One, BBC2’s comedy series Motherland, and The Pact whilst also overseeing various TV production companies under the Lionsgate banner.
Nicola grew up in an entrepreneurial family and has an enviable creative and people focused drive for commercial success which fuelled her decision to set up Picnik Entertainment. Her people focused strategy recently led to her contributing to Matt Phelan’s Freedom To Be Happy book, published in 2020.
